Industrial Air Compressors For Your Business
Industrial Air Compressors For Your Business
October 18, 2017

Industrial air compressors come in different forms and sizes. Though the equipment varies, they serve the same purpose. Industrial air compressors are used to increase the volume or decrease the pressure of air.

The most common type of industrial air compressors in the market are positive displacement compressors.

They include reciprocating, rotary screw and rotary vane compressors.  Picking the right industrial air compressor is very important.  You must choose the equipment that perfectly suits your needs. When in doubt, consult experts from air compressor suppliers such as Air Energy. We are able to assess your situation, determine your needs and recommend a solution.

Before purchasing a unit from an industrial air compressor supplier, the following must be considered:

Maximum Required Operating Pressure: Knowing this requirement will help you determine if you need a Single Stage or Two Stage Compressor.

Maximum Required CFM usage: Calculate this by adding up all air tools to be used at the same time. Then, add approximately 30% to the sum to get the CFM number.  This is in order to allow a reasonable buffer against uncommon compressor usage.

Required Horsepower and Other Electrical Components: The higher the increase in volume and pressure, the larger the machine should be. Larger horsepower and other electrical components should accommodate these increases.

Required Drive System: Ask yourself whether you need an electric motor or gasoline engine to drive your air compressor. Determine the availability of electrical power to know what to use.  If there is always electrical power available, use an electric motor, as they are cheaper and require less maintenance. Use a gasoline engine in the absence of electrical power. This kind of engine offers portability and work area flexibility.

Required Tank Size: The longer the period of usage, the larger the tank size should be.
